Unlike complex high-end models, the ID-S series focuses on ease of use with just two buttons: Origin (to set the absolute zero point) and Power/Zero (to zero the display at any position for incremental measurement). It utilises Mitutoyo’s proprietary ABSOLUTE electrostatic capacitance sensor, meaning the origin point is stored even when the power is turned off, you don’t have to re-set the zero every time you pick it up. It has an 8mm stem and a standard lug back for mounting.
