Description
Condition
Used (Unknown Make).
This knurling tool is in used condition. There are no maker’s marks or branding visible on the tool body. The knurling wheels currently installed show signs of use (some compacted swarf or wear), but they still rotate freely on their pins. The black oxide finish on the body is intact with some minor cosmetic spotting.
Product Overview
This is a Self-Centering Double Wheel Knurling Tool designed for small precision lathes. It features a compact 8mm square shank, making it perfectly sized for smaller benchtop machines (such as Sherline, Unimat, Emco, or watchmakers’ lathes) where standard 12mm or 16mm tools are too large to fit the tool post.
The tool uses a pivoting head design. Unlike a single-wheel knurler which requires you to set the angle perfectly, this head “floats” slightly, allowing the two knurling wheels to self-centre against the rotating workpiece. This ensures that both wheels apply equal pressure, resulting in a cleaner, more uniform knurl.
Knurling Pattern:
It is currently fitted with two knurling wheels. While the exact pitch is not marked, this dual-wheel setup is typically used to produce a Diamond Pattern (cross hatch) by using one Right-Hand and one Left-Hand spiral wheel simultaneously.
