The Mitutoyo 916-213 is a 100mm x 70mm Precision Steel Square (Standard Type). Unlike “Beveled Edge” squares which have thin, knife-like edges for light-gap inspection, this “Standard” (Flat Edge) model features robust, flat measuring faces.
This flat design makes it the superior choice for layout work (scribing lines) and machine setup (squaring vises or setting stops), as the wider edge provides a stable reference surface that won’t be easily damaged by contact with rough workpieces. The square is hardened and precision ground on all measuring faces to ensure long-term accuracy. It is manufactured to JIS Grade 0 standards (or equivalent high-precision specification), with an outside squareness tolerance of just 7µm.
