Description

The Iscar SGTBN 16-5 is a dedicated Tool Block designed to hold parting, grooving, and cut-off blades securely on a lathe.

Because parting blades are thin and often extended deep into a cut, they are highly susceptible to vibration and chatter. This block clamps the blade rigidly across a large surface area, providing the necessary stability for clean, heavy-duty cut-off operations.

• Shank Size: Features a 16mm x 16mm (approx. 5/8″) square shank. This makes it an ideal fit for standard quick-change tool posts (like AXA or BXA sizes) or conventional 4-way turrets.
• Blade Compatibility: Designed to accept standard 26mm (1.024″) tall blades. This accommodates a huge variety of genuine Iscar blades (such as the SGIH 26 series or TGFH 26 series) as well as generic 26mm/1-inch parting blades from other manufacturers.
• Versatility: By using a block-and-blade system rather than a solid one-piece tool, you can easily adjust the overhang of the blade within the block to suit the specific diameter of the material you are parting, ensuring maximum rigidity for every job.
