Once the grease is wiped off with a clean rag and a touch of mineral spirits, the base is smooth to the touch with only light visual patina consistent with age; no dings, gouges, or rust pitting that would compromise the reference surface. The vial is clear, the bubble moves freely, and the adjustment mechanism is intact. Cosmetically the body shows minor handling marks typical of a shop-used precision tool, but nothing that affects function. Recommended for any buyer who wants to verify sensitivity against their own master or commission a calibration — though on visual inspection it’s ready to go back to work.
