When you need to check a line-bored housing, qualify a reamed hole, or verify a ground bore against tolerance, you need a proper bore gauge that lets the tool find the true diameter, not your hand. The Mitutoyo 511-126-05 telescoping bore gauge set solves exactly that problem across the 18–35mm range, giving you nine precision-ground anvil extensions that step the measurement range in 2mm increments from 18mm through to 34mm. The contents of this kit present in near-new condition despite the worn outer case.
- Nine interchangeable anvil extensions (18–34mm in 2mm steps) — each extension is precision-ground and hardened, allowing you to dial into a specific sub-range for maximum rigidity and minimum deflection error. A single anvil spanning the full 17mm range would introduce flex; discrete steps keep the gauge stiff and repeatable.
- 511-series Mitutoyo bore gauge body — the gauge body uses a proven centralising mechanism that rocks to find the true diameter automatically, removing operator technique from the equation and delivering consistent, repeatable readings directly to your dial indicator.

- Accepts a standard 8mm stem dial indicator — the gauge body takes a conventional 8mm shank dial indicator (0.01mm graduation recommended), meaning you can use a quality indicator you already own or source one independently. The gauge body and all nine anvil extensions present in excellent condition — the precision-ground contact surfaces show no visible wear, scoring, or corrosion, and the centralising mechanism moves freely with no slop or binding. The anvil tips are clean and undamaged. The labelled anvil rack is intact and all nine extensions (NO.1 18mm through NO.9 34mm) are present and accounted for in their correct positions. The outer storage case shows the kind of shop-floor patina you’d expect from a used set — the exterior is dirty and marked — but this has no bearing whatsoever on the functional precision of the instruments inside. As with any used bore gauge, we recommend zeroing the assembly against a calibrated ring gauge or a known master bore before putting it to work in a critical inspection task. Function-wise, this set is ready to go straight to the bench.
