The Sumitomo SBN 20-26 is a heavy-duty Tool Block designed for mounting standard parting, grooving, and cut-off blades securely on your lathe.
Just like the industry-standard Iscar blocks, this modular system provides maximum rigidity for thin cut-off blades by clamping them across a large surface area. This eliminates the vibration and chatter that often plague deep parting operations.
- Shank Size: Features a standard 20mm functional shank height, making it a perfect fit for 20mm turrets or appropriately sized quick-change tool posts (such as a BXA or CXA).
- Blade Compatibility: Designed to accept standard 26mm tall blades (such as the size 26 blades from Sumitomo, Iscar, Korloy, and others).
- Adjustable Overhang: The block allows you to slide the blade in and out to set the exact overhang required for the diameter of your workpiece, ensuring you only extend the blade as far as absolutely necessary for maximum strength.
