The anvil extensions housed in the wooden case are all present and seated in their correct foam slots; surfaces are clean with no pitting or corrosion. The wooden storage case has minor age-related patina on the exterior but the foam insert is intact and holding everything securely. Overall impression is consistent with a set that either left the shelf once or was simply stored after very limited use. As with any used precision instrument — regardless of condition — we recommend setting the zero against a calibrated ring gauge or a known outside micrometer master before committing the tool to inspection work.
