This depth micrometer is in good working condition with a smooth thimble action and clean measuring face. Cosmetic Note: The tool has previous owner’s custom engravings (names/initials) etched onto the body. Important: This is a partial set. It includes the micrometer head and 2 loose interchangeable rods (measuring approx. 120mm and 145mm in physical length). It appears to be missing one other rod from the original sequence. It comes housed in its original Mitutoyo plastic case.

Unlike fixed-rod micrometers, this model uses a precision-ground reference base and a set of interchangeable rods to cover a wide range of depths. The micrometer head itself has a travel of 25mm. To measure deeper features, you simply swap the rod for a longer one. It features a Ratchet Stop mechanism to ensure constant measuring force, preventing the rod from lifting the base off the workpiece and giving a false reading.
