The Mitutoyo 147-301 is a specialized Hub Micrometer (Series 147). While standard micrometers have a large, semi-circular frame that can get in the way, this unique tool features a very shallow throat depth and a reduced-profile frame.+1
This design allows the micrometer to enter inside bores and recesses to measure:
- Hub Thickness: The wall thickness of a hub or boss.
- Shoulders: The length of a shoulder inside a bore.
- Bearing Bushings: Checking the wall thickness of bushings where a standard micrometer frame would hit the outer wall.
It features Carbide-Tipped measuring faces for durability and a Ratchet Stop for consistent measuring force. The 0-25mm range on this specific model means it can be zero-set by closing the faces (no standard bar required).
