The Mitutoyo 126-125 is a digital outside thread micrometer covering the 0–25mm range, purpose-built for measuring pitch diameter and thread form on external threads — work that a standard flat-anvil mic simply cannot do accurately. Fitted with interchangeable V-anvil and cone spindle sets to suit specific thread pitches, this micrometer gives you a direct, reliable pitch diameter reading at the bench without needing a three-wire setup and a calculator. The digital readout removes interpolation error, and Mitutoyo’s build quality means the frame geometry and spindle accuracy hold up across a working life that outlasts most of the machines it’s been used on.

The precision surfaces that actually do the measurement work — the V-anvil seating and the cone spindle — should be verified against a known thread standard or pitch diameter gauge before putting this into a calibrated inspection process. For general bench use, thread chasing verification, or setting up threading passes on a lathe, a quick functional zero check will tell you what you need to know. Cosmetic wear on the body does not affect pitch diameter accuracy; the geometry is in the frame and the spindle, not the paint.
