The Obishi Keiki 200mm Sine Bar is a traditional toolmaker’s instrument that uses trigonometry and precision gauge blocks to establish exact angles for surface grinding, milling setups, or heavy layout work.
- 200mm Center Distance: The geometry of a sine bar relies on the exact distance between the centers of its two resting cylinders. At 200mm, this bar provides a long, stable reference span, significantly multiplying your accuracy when setting shallow or complex angles compared to a smaller 100mm bar.
- Gauge Block Companion: This tool is designed to work in perfect harmony with a set of precision gauge blocks. By calculating the sine of your required angle and stacking your blocks under one of the cylinders, the top face of the bar becomes a perfect, rigid ramp for your workpiece.
- Versatile Workholding: It is an essential setup tool. You can place it on a surface plate for scribing layout lines, lock it into a milling vise to machine angled features, or set it on a magnetic chuck for precision form grinding.

However, it remains a heavy, highly rigid piece of Japanese steel that is still absolutely perfect for general shop setups, milling angles, and fabrication layout where sub-micron precision is not required.
