The Origin
Radius Master was designed by John Price, a tool and die maker by trade, who spent over four decades engineering belt grinding machinery in Australia. His goal was simple, build a machine that doesn’t waste the operator’s time with add-ons, spanners, and disassembly. The result was a patented, award-winning design with no equal in terms of convenience, performance, and durability.
Award-Winning Design
The Radius Master earned national recognition as a winner on ABC’s The New Inventors, praised for its innovative multi-station layout and tool-free operation. A New Chapter with Niroc Tools
When John Price retired in 2025, Radius Master Machinery was acquired by Niroc, led by Corin Urquhart. Corin is a respected figure in the Australian maker community with over 20 years of hands-on experience in knifemaking, toolmaking, and belt grinding. He brings deep industry knowledge of grinder brands, abrasives, and real-world workshop applications. The Workshop Workhorse
The RM-48 Series II is the core Radius Master machine, a 2″ × 48″ belt grinder built for serious, all-day use. Access five contact wheels, slack belt grinding, and flat platen grinding across seven work stations, all without reaching for a single tool. The Series II introduced sharp square notching on both sides of the belt, improved tracking, and increased platen height. It’s compact, powerful, and built to last.

The RM-48 Variable Speed gives you everything the fixed-speed model offers, plus stepless speed control from 0 to 3,600 feet per minute.
