However, it has been tested and is functioning nicely. The movement is smooth, and the auto-reverse mechanism operates correctly. The Peacock PCN-1BZB is a premium “Z-Series” One Revolution dial test indicator. Unlike standard PCN-1B models, this specialised “Z” version features a limited measuring range of 0.6mm to prevent reading errors.

• Error-Free Reading: The pointer remains within a single revolution (or less), making it impossible to miscount multiple rotations—a common source of scrap in precision machining.
• Clutchless (Auto-Reverse): It features Peacock’s signature “Clutchless” lever mechanism. You do not need to flip a switch to change direction; the pointer always rotates clockwise regardless of whether the stylus moves up or down.
• High Sensitivity: The “Z” series utilises miniature jewelled bearings at the pivot point for exceptional sensitivity and durability.
• Visual Zones: The dial face typically features a colour-coded (Yellow/Blue) background to clearly indicate the “usable” measuring range and the “dead zone”.
