Some clamps have some endmill marks on the top surface. There is visible surface oxidation and minor pitting consistent with storage rather than heavy abuse, and the original box shows wear commensurate with age. None of this affects the clamping function: step clamps work through mechanical contact at the clamping face and the T-slot, and the working surfaces on these remain serviceable. If you’re fussy about rust transfer to finished workpieces, a light pass with Scotch-Brite and a wipe of Way Oil before first use will sort it out.
